Last 31st of August 2024, together with 32 participants from University of the Philippines Alumni Association (Singapore), we journeyed for 1.5 hours in an appetizer workshop entitled “Leading and Navigating in Times of Change”, based on the framework, methodology & tool called The N.E.W.S. Compass® for organizational, team and personal navigation.
POWERinU Training and Coaching is a licensed partner of the Switzerland-based N.E.W.S.® Navigation, a global leader in leadership & organizational navigation, in Singapore and Philippines. I’m a certified trainer & facilitator for Organizational & Team Navigation® and for Manager as Coach & Mentor programs.
During the workshop, we looked at how “navigation” was relevant with leadership in today’s VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. Participants assessed themselves in the north, east, west and south directions of the N.E.W.S.® Compass using key questions. The N.E.W.S.® Compass can be used with reference to the 4 directions:
⬆️ NORTH: Where do we go from here?
➡️ EAST: Why do we want to go there?
⬅️ WEST: How shall we get there?
⬇️ SOUTH: What might stop us on the way, internally and externally?
After their self-assessment, which served as the starting point, the participants did a fast tracked and simple version of 2 out of 3 steps in navigation. We also went deeper, as much as time allowed, in the North, which focused on identifying their Direction of Greatness and the Next Phase.
As the facilitator, I’m super delighted to read some of the feedback from the participants, who over-all gave a satisfaction rating of 4.94 out of 5!
